Car Troubles

I had a bit of an adventure tonight. Went to a drive-in movie with my friend, her boyfriend, and my brother. Me and my brother were in one car, my friend and her boyfriend in another. We watched Hellboy II and Wall-E back-to-back, starting at 8:55pm. I don't know if all drive-in movies work this way, but for this place, you listen to the audio by tuning into a specified radio station. Which, of course, means leaving your car on. See where I'm going here?

Anyway, the second movie finishes up, it's about 1:00am and I try to start my car back up to leave. "Try" being the operative word here. My battery is apparently dead. I call my Dad who says he'll head down with a jumper cable. Luckily, my friend has not left, yet, so me and my brother don't have to wait in an empty, dark parking lot waiting for my Dad. My Dad gets there, jumps my car and I finally get home at 2:00am. .___.

Tomorrow I'll be getting a new battery. I'm usually my brother's ride to football practice on Monday's, so he's going to have to skip it tomorrow. He's so ~~happy~~ disappointed. :P

Canada Post 1: Coumbia Icefield

So, I'll start off my picture posts with an entry about the Columbia Ice Field. We stopped here on the way to Jasper from Lake Loise. It's about an hour and thirty minutes away from either place. You take a special vehicle to the icefield and they let you walk around for about 20 minutes. There are little streams cutting through the ice that you can drink from. The water is, of course, VERY COLD. I had to use my hand to drink from it, after which my hand spent the rest of its time in my pocket. Too. Cold. D:

Here's the beginning of the trail down to the icefield. You can see one of the vehicles used.

The streams go from the start of the path, all along it and makes a u-turn around the area they drop us off at, and then goes back along the other side of the path.

As you can see, this is where they let us roam around. There were two vehicles besides ours up there at the time. The ice was very slippery but, thankfully, I did not fall or anything. xD

If you can't tell, I was very interested in the stream cutting a path through the ice. ;P

A little cove I spotted on the return trip. It's a really nice shade of blue. :O

I took some video, too. Kind of shaky, but it gives you a nice 360 view. Just......don't listen to me talking. I sound so weird. >___< "This is a glaciER~ OTZ

So, if you find yourself in Canada, and you're near the Icefield, GO DO IT. It's a nice way to be in ice and snow without freezing your butt off. :P Wonderful picture opportunities, too. :]

Well, I actually got in last night, but I was kind of worn out. Canada was gorgeous and I had a lot of fun along the way, but there was way too much traveling involved. D: Getting home was the worst part. We took a bus, then a ferry, then a bus again and then a plane, then BART and, finally, a car. Got back at 8:30pm after starting the trip home at 8:00am. x___x

I'll be making some picture posts of the trip later, since I still have to sort through the pictures, figure out where they were taken, delete blurry ones, etc.

So, I'm going on vacation to Canada tomorrow. I'm really not sure what to expect since my parents handled all the details, but it should be fun. :D We're going to go on this train tour of Canada, stopping at different cities to site-see and spend the night.

I will have limited internet access(;~;), which is extremely annoying because 1)I'm going to miss so many interesting entries, I just know it and 2) my registration date for DVC is during the trip. This means I'm going to have to bring all my school information with me and figure out my schedule there. Hopefully, I'll be around a computer at the time and not on a train. Anyway, I'm getting home on July 8th, so I'll see you all then! 8]

I'm not going to Fanime anymore. My parents apparently did not realize that it would be my friend who would drive us back and forth between the convention and her cabin. They said that she's too new of a driver and that I can't go...

I'm actually not that angry. =/ Maybe because now the money I had for Fanime can go towards a Lusis? Who knows. *shrug* Oh, well. Three day weekend! :DD

Going to Fanime for the weekend. :DD I have $300 set aside for this and I am not afraid to use it! >] Definitely going to go for the doujinshi first, then merchandise(I am such a sucker for merchandise) then some arts, then manga volumes if I have money left. xD I AM SO EXCITED!! :DD This will be my first anime convention, actually. :]

Wow. There are only about 4 weeks left of school. @___@ Then I graduate and go off to college!! o____o My first day of college is on my birthday, too. -____-; I just need to get through with passing grades. I have a serious case of senioritus right now and can't be arsed to do anything but important projects. :< IT SUCKS. >[

I am halfway through the second book in the Dresden Files. Was pimped this series by bookshop. SO. GOOD. <33 Harry/Marcone is my new OTP. *___*

It's about a wizard named Harry (now why does that sound familiar... :P) who is a private consultant on magic things and also does some work with the police when needed. These cases usually lead to bigger, and badder, things. Go check out bookshop's post on it HERE for a better summary.

Gosh, I haven't made a journal entry in forever~ So! I thought I'd give you guys a doll update. :] I've bought another bjd, and no, she didn't cost me over $500. :P I got this cutie right here. They also have one named Sugar and another named Pipi and they are all just too cute! :D They're each only about 4 1/2 inches tall. >w<

On Wednesday I got my wisdom teeth removed. D: I still look like a chipmunk. D< Also, all I've been able to eat is chocolate baby Ensure stuff(tastes like Atkins diet shakes xD), ice cream (yum P:) and scrambled eggs. xD I want to eat real food~

Also, I want an Unoa Sist or Lusis(1.5) and anyone who knows what those are knows I'm doomed. xD

What is not awesome is, apparently, international package delivery. My package was at the Los Angeles International Airport and then they sent it back to Bluefairy. Not that I expect anything more than, "We'll get the address fixed and ship it back." *sigh* I hope she's here by Christmas. D:

I was surfing LJ and found a link to a ball-jointed doll site. Now, keep in mind that I was under the impression that all the dolls scare me and I would not want one. That is no longer the truth. D: Though, some still do. Anyway, I want one, now. ^___^; ARGH! Do you know how expensive they are?! ;__; The one I want would be Sarang. She's soooo adorable. (Yes, I have a horrible weakness for cute things.) *____* But, uh, she's also $430. D< AND! HOLY SH*T. The shipping is $56. O___O So, that's $486. ._____. Whoops. It's been awhile since I've posted. xD Even longer since I told you I'd post some kitty photos, too. ^__^;; Well, we've named the kitties. The black one is Mocha and the light one is Latte. xD OMG. I am so awesome at naming, aren't I? :P

This is Latte under the treadmill. :] He likes to go under there to sleep a lot. This is also one of the best picture of him, I think.

And here's Mocha sleeping on the cat scratcher in my room. Or, at least, it used to be in my room. It was moved out into the living room, though. It got annoying when people kept barging into my room to see the kitties. -__-

And the winner is......DVC! I can't go to a state college. I am now going to DVC. I'm missing a basic course that is for some reason required for CSU but not to graduate high school. Oh, joy. *sigh* It's not that bad, I guess. My dad's just kind of disapointed. =\ OK! ENOUGH EMO! :D

Choosing Colleges

I'm a senior this year, so I have to start filling out applications for colleges. I'm not really sure where I want to go, though. I just know that I want to go somewhere close by. =/ So far, I have St. Mary's, UC Davis, University of San Francisco and University of the Pacific. Has anyone attended/is attending any of these colleges? Anyone heard anything good about them? I am so lost. @___@

IN OTHER NEWS: I'm waiting impatiently for my doujinshi to arrive. How long do you think it takes for a package to get from Japan to California if it's just by standard shipping? D:

Geneon Problems

Apparently, Geneon is stopping DVD sales starting on Sept. 28th. ARGH! I was buying both KKM and Shonen Onmyouji from them. D< I hope someone picks up their titles because the fansub group that was doing Shounen Onmyouji stopped subbing it because it was licensed and now I don't know how it ends.

This was mostly just a heads up if anyone wants to quickly put an order in for any DVDs that Geneon has released but you haven't gotten around to getting, yet. Who knows how long it will take for other companies to pick up the series, you know, if they do. Oh, no. Does this mean new voice actors? D:
